After almost a year of trying to get activated by Universal Extras, they have finally approved me to join them as an artist. The problem was that they have been very particular about photos being on point and professional. So after many failed selfies against a white background and amateur full length photos, I decided to wait until I received my photos from a recent professional photoshoot :D. Fast forward a month and my photos have been approved, my account is activated for the next four years, and so begins my journey deeper into the world of being an extra.
The reason I wanted to join Universal Extras as they have a reputation for being involved with the best on film or television. There have been a few negative comments about these guys, but I'm willing to give them a go and I'm excited

As a Talent Talks member, I was invited for a photo-shoot which I utilised as an opportunity to get new head shots and some full length photos.
It was held at 3 Mills Studios in London. While aimlessly wandering round trying to find the correct building, I saw some extravagant sets being built in the larger studios! Eventually I admitted defeat and asked someone for directions. The first woman had absoloutely no idea and told me she was just helping out a production team. But she managed to direct me to the security desk who told me I had walked past it twice.
The photographer (I'll put his link below) was fantastic in giving advice to someone with little modelling experience. I was completely nervous but he spoke calmly and I began to relax as he snapped away while I stood in front of the white backdrop following his suggestions of body language and where to look. I was allowed a costume change which I had been warned about before the day, so I came prepared with a smart outfit to get smart/business looking shots. From the results I could choose 10 photos to keep but these weren't available for a few weeks as there had been so many people signed up for the shoot in individual time slots.
After the shoot I drove into Central London as I had my Television: History & Future module at university from 7pm-9pm.
